People choose rugs for a variety of reasons including the following

To dress their floors

Rugs can entirely change the look of a space, whether it is in the workplace or in a private residence. Depending on the general décor of a space a rug can be used to inject a splash of colour in an otherwise calm or neutral setting or a rug may be used to tie together the existing colours and finishes in the space. If a rug becomes tired or overpowering in one space it can be moved. Equally if the owner of a rug moves residence or office, the rug can move with them.

To dress their walls

More & more people are using rugs as art on their walls. We find that people are actually quite surprised at the relative value that they can get in rugs for use as wall hangings. A 1m x 2m custom tufted rug will cost €700, it is difficult to find custom art of this size at this price. Using a rug as a hanging gives the additional benefit of a three dimensional characteristic.

To add cosiness to their room

A nice rug can add great warmness to a space, very often defining the seating area in the space. In many cases people will place their furniture entirely on a rug creating an island effect with the rug, this in our view really looks fantastic

To soften hard surfaces (tile, marble, stone or wood)

Rugs are very often used to soften otherwise hard surfaces. People, particularly in the last 15 years have used hard finishes extensively in the renovation and construction of buildings. In time, these people have discovered that whilst these finishes aesthetically look fantastic in reality can be cold & noisy. Having made significant investments initially in these hard finishes a great solution in softening these areas is to use a rug, in this respect the original surface can still remain very much part of the overall look whilst the rug can be used to soften the area and enhance the overall appearance of the space.

To insulate from excessive noise and echoing

Rugs are used in both residential & commercial environments to insulate from noise. We have used rugs in commercial call centers as wall hangings to dampen the noise from telephone activity. This has been very effective when there are a lot of glazed finishes and particularly in areas that have atria and high ceilings. Equally rugs on floors will greatly reduce echoing and background noise.

To brand their businesses

Rugs can be a very effective way to display your business brand on the floor or on walls. We consider Company Logo rugs to be an area for development within our business. Businesses can achieve serious awareness without huge investment
